This quick and easy knock-off recipe gives you that Chinese food taste without all the MSG and other unknown ingredients! This has become one of our families go-to meals when we're in a hurry!


  • 1 pound ground pork
  • 1 TBSP Sesame oil
  • 2 clove garlic , minced
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 1/2 large onion, chopped
  • 1/4 teaspoon Chinese 5 spice seasoning
  • 1 tablespoon soy sauce
  • 1 small head of cabbage, shredded
  • 3 cups fresh bean sprouts
  • 3 carrots, grated
  • Spicy Egg Roll Sauce
  • 1 TBSP olive oil
  • 1 TBSP sesame oil
  • 2 cloves garlic, minced
  • 1/2 teaspoon red pepper flakes
  • 1 teaspoon minced fresh ginger root
  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 3 tablespoons orange juice
  • 1 TBSP fresh lime juice
  • 1/2 teaspoon sesame seeds
  • Garnish (optional):
  • Green onions
  • Sesame seeds


  1. Spicy Egg Roll Sauce
  2. Cook garlic and chili flakes over medium for 1 minutes. Add remaining sauce ingredients and cook an additional 5 minutes. Remove from heat and set aside or refrigerate until you ready to serve your Egg Roll in a Bowl.

  4. In a large wok or pot, cook pork, ginger, garlic, Chinese 5 spice, sesame oil and soy sauce until the pork is no longer pink.
  5. Add in shredded cabbage, onion and carrot. Cook approximately 5-8 minutes until cabbage is soft. Add bean sprouts and cook an additional 4-5 minutes, stirring occasionally.
  6. Garnish with sesame seeds and green onions. Serve spicy egg roll sauce on the side as it has some kick!


You can use ground beef or chicken and we sometimes add shrimp too!
